Animal rights group, PETA have launched an attack on media franchise and video game series Pokémon. The group claims that Pokémon teaches children the miss use of animals and promotes animal cruelty and violence. PETA released the following statement on 8th October after the release of Pokémon Black and White 2.
“Much like animals in the real world, Pokémon are treated as unfeeling objects and used for such things as human entertainment and as subjects in experiments. The way that Pokémon are stuffed into poke balls is similar to how circuses chain elephants inside railroad cars and let them out only to perform confusing and often painful tricks that were taught using sharp steel-tipped bullhooks and electric shock prods …if PETA existed in Unova, our motto would be: Pokémon are not ours to use or abuse. They exist for their own reasons. We believe that this is the message that should be sent to children.”
PETA have also released a parody Pokémon game on their website called Pokémon Black and Blue: Gotta Free ‘em All. The game has you playing as Pokémon battling their trainers. Your Pokémon can use their basic attacks or they can protest, educate and even shame the trainers. It’s terrible, absolutely horrible the worst game ever Final Verdict 0/5 do not search for it or play it your soul will be destroyed.
PETA have become a real life Team Plasma for trying to sue Pokémon for animal cruelty. Never mind the fact that Pokémon is a fictitious game which has been around for decades, PETA can easily be sued by Nintendo for releasing a parody game with the same game engine and design which shows more signs of animal cruelty than the actual Pokémon games.
Many Bothens were sacrificed to make PETA’s campaign to save these fictional animals.
